Maudo Massaro
PIANIST, COMPOSER, PRODUCER
My name is Maudo Francesco Massaro and I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. When I was four years old I was enrolled into the Royal Conservatory of Music to learn how to play the piano. My mother, Mary Massaro, is most definitely the music enforcer in my family. Both my sister and I took piano lessons downtown at the RCM for many years until school and work became more important. I had finished my grade nine RCM piano examination as well as grade four harmony and grade three history of music. I stopped taking lessons in grade ten because I had fallen into the passion of composition and production of original music. I now use my piano skills to create and produce original music using DAW's and synthesizers in my basement.
In high school I discovered how music is produced and what programs like Cubase and Fruity Loops can do. I started out making Coldplay electronic remixes and piano related music until I got the idea to make movie soundtracks. The reason I produce is to make people feel relaxed or tense when listening. I try to affiliate atmospheric sounds you here in suspenseful films with a variety of different genres. I do not intend to be a pop star however my dreams don't fall short of winning an Oscar for best original soundtrack. I am not a singer so I do not write many lyrics. When I do record singers, they usually write lyrics themselves. I have written lyrics before and am fully capable. Most of my tracks. I also have a library of electronic dance music tracks that I have played at parties and some bars. If I am making music for a party, I usually make it an upbeat and feel good song. My immediate career goals is to work with a record label, get my own small dj venues, and work with student film producers. My long-term career goals are to make movie soundtracks, video game soundtracks, and even commercial music. Life for me will be satisfying enough as long as I can make a living with my talent. Many older movies have inspired me to make movie soundtracks including all the James Bond films, the Thomas Crown Affair, and many more. I also am inspired by electronic producers such as Skrillex, Deadmau5, and Porter Robinson. In conclusion, I believe IMP is the perfect program for me because of the great reviews from my research and because I believe college is more hands on and appropriate for the music industry.
